Maria is someone you want to hang out with because her joy is infectious! I first meet her in person at her personal shopping experience at Underneath It All, and she never stopped smiling! She was having so much fun trying on different styles of lingerie I was selecting for her…and she was having even more fun at her session! She was just so quick to laugh, and when I found out at her session she had recently gotten engaged, I couldn’t help but squeal with happiness right along with her. <3

How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir session and what made you decide now was the time to do one?
I saw your advertisement on Facebook and it made me curious. I decided to have a boudoir session because I had lost weight and felt like I should go for it.

What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir session?
Shannon is very professional but also very easy to talk to and it feels like you’ve known her forever so I’m glad I chose her!

What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal?
The reveal was my favorite part because it put all my worries and doubts to rest since my photos were amazing!

Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)?
Yes, the makeup was heavy but Shannon reassured me that it translates well in the photos…and it did!

Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward?
Yes…The posing was a little awkward. I was worried that I didn’t suck it in at the right time or pay attention to my facial expressions but again the photos turned out great so you would never know I was worried about those things.

What were you more nervous about—the session or the reveal?
The reveal.

Did you arrive to the reveal worried if you’d like your images?
Yes.

What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?
I was in shock about how great they turned out!

If you had been worried about the hair/makeup/posing, did you like what you saw in your portraits?
Yes! I love my portraits and so does my fiancé!! He said, “Tell Shannon ‘Thank You’!”

How did shooting this session with Shannon Hemauer change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident?
I am more confident and I am glad I was able to celebrate me.

Before this experience, did you feel you were photogenic? If no, do you feel you are photogenic now?
Yes.

Before this experience, what concerns did you have in regards to hiring a photographer?
I hadn’t thought about it before because I never imagined I would do a session like this.

Were you surprised at how much fun you had planning your session, shooting your session, and seeing your images?
Yes. I was afraid it might be awkward but Shannon made me feel so comfortable working with her and the [team].

Why should other women do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session with Shannon Hemauer Photography?
I think it’s a great experience and it made me feel empowered because it was all about me! It’s not every day that you get supermodel treatment! So go for it…Treat yourself! I’m glad I did!
