Mrs. L. is a newlywed—she did her boudoir session as her wedding-day gift to her now-husband—and really wanted to make her session something special to her groom, so she snuck his hunting bow out of the house…and then prayed he wouldn’t decide to go target practicing while she had it at her session!
Thankfully all was well and we were able to pull everything off without him being none the wiser. 🙂
How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one?
Honestly, I never really thought about it before.
What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session?
I first saw that she was a friend of a friend. Looked into her work and decided why not.
What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal?
The entire process was terrific. Can’t say I liked one part over another.

Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)?
Makeup was definitely heavier than I normally wear but I put all my trust into Shannon and her team. They know best, this is what they do.
Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward?
Yes, I did feel like the posing was awkward, but again, I put all my trust into Shannon.
What were you more nervous about—the session or the reveal?
I was more nervous about the session.

Did you arrive to the reveal worried if you’d like your images?
Not really. I figured I would at least like one. 🙂
What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?
I was speechless. They were fantastic.
If you had been worried about the hair/makeup/posing, did you like what you saw in your portraits?
Was absolutely spot on.
How did shooting this session with Shannon Hemauer change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident?
I believe I’m still the same me. But have now seen the boudoir “glamorous” side.

Before this experience, did you feel you were photogenic? If no, do you feel you are photogenic now?
I never really have liked any pictures of myself. I’ve learned not to be so critical of myself.
Before this experience, what concerns did you have in regards to hiring a photographer?
Not really any concerns.

Were you surprised at how much fun you had planning your session, shooting your session, and seeing your images?
I wasn’t really surprised, I could feel Shannon’s energy throughout the entire process and knew it would be a fun time.
Why should other women do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session with Shannon Hemauer Photography?
They should do it for themselves, do it for their significant other—just do it!!!
