I would like to start by apologizing for getting the “FarmersOnly.com” song stuck in your head, and if you’re not familiar with the song I’m referencing, take a look HERE.

Chrissy met her husband on FarmersOnly.com. She’ll be the first to admit their commercials are a bit cheesy—but effective! She was sitting on her couch one evening, saw the commercial and though she’d give it a chance…only to be disappointed at her options, so she logged out of the site and went about her way. BUT! A few months later she saw another FarmersOnly.com commercial and thought she’d give it another try. And this time, when she logged in, the very first man listed would end up being her husband!

Chrissy and her man were married in September 2017 and for their one-year wedding anniversary Chrissy wanted to surprise her man with portraits of her that he’d love. Below you’ll find her client interview with me sprinkled in with a few of her images—please take a moment to read over her answers, and if you find you can relate, contact me to schedule your phone consult.

How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one?
I started looking into boudoir in late October 2017. I had gotten married in September and had already started to think about what I could give my husband for our one year anniversary. I had been looking on Pinterest to get some ideas and came across some boudoir photos. I had no idea what “boudoir” was at the time. I googled boudoir photographers in my area and came across Shannon Hemauer Photography. I immediately pulled up her website and started looking through her gallery. The “before and after” pictures were amazing. I contacted her by email and the rest is history!

What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session?
After I emailed Shannon to let her know I was interested in scheduling a session, we set up a time to talk on the phone. She was so thorough and organized. She already had the answers to all my questions.

What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal?
I would have to say the reveal was my favorite! It was more than what I had expected. Shannon had tissues close by because it was very emotional for me. This boudoir session was something special since I was giving my husband this for our first anniversary. I could already feel his emotions and how he would react when he saw them. Shannon puts so much love and dedication into her work and it shows!

Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)?
Somewhat! I am a “farmers wife” so I DO NOT wear much makeup! I thought my makeup was on a little heavy and my lipstick was too bright.

Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward?
I thought a few poses were a little awkward and it felt weird to do the “Pee Pee” dance. LOL But it was such a great experience!

What were you more nervous about—the session or the reveal?
The reveal!!

Did you arrive to the reveal worried if you’d like your images?
Definitely! I was sick in the stomach as I was driving to my reveal. The not knowing how I would look in these photo were stressing me out. I was wondering if all this effort and time would be worth it and if the photos would be what I was imagining they would be.

What did you think when you saw that first image of yourself?
I cried! The reveal was so much more than I had imagined. I knew at that very moment that I had made the best decision I could have made when I scheduled Shannon to do my boudoir session!

If you had been worried about the hair/makeup/posing, did you like what you saw in your portraits?
Absolutely!

How did shooting this session with Shannon Hemauer change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident?
I was so much happier after the reveal! I had no idea that I could look this amazing!

Before this experience, did you feel you were photogenic? If no, do you feel you are photogenic now?
No! I’m almost 50 and I work on the farm so I don’t put much effort into getting fixed up. After seeing my pictures I was in shock! LOL

Before this experience, what concerns did you have in regards to hiring a photographer?
I was embarrassed to talk to someone I didn’t know about taking pictures of myself half clothed! Shannon makes you feel so good and it’s so much fun!

Were you surprised at how much fun you had planning your session, shooting your session, and seeing your images?
It was so much fun the day of my session. Shannon and her team were so down to earth and made me feel special! From the beginning to the reveal, it was a great experience that I’ll never forget!

Why should other women do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session with Shannon Hemauer Photography?
All I can say is…she’s the best! From being so organized, to being there for any questions you may have, to making me feel so calm at my session, to the reveal which was an indescribable experience because of all the emotions running through me when seeing all my pictures, I wouldn’t want to go to anyone else!

Is there anything I could have done to improve upon your experience?
Nothing! You are a professional at what you do and you have all the basics covered! You and your team are wonderful!
