So while I was in Wisconsin this past July for a family reunion, I did a session with Mrs. R.—an adorable young woman who never thought in a million years she would shoot a boudoir session, but she wanted to give her husband an amazing anniversary present so she contacted me so we could set out planning.
Mrs. R. decided to keep all of her images private so I don’t have any from her session I can publicly show, so I’ve worked in some of my favorite images from 2016 throughout the interview questions.
How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir session?

What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir session?
We have mutual friends.
How did shooting this session with Shannon Hemauer change your outlook on yourself? Are you more confident? Yes, especially around my husband. Gave me my sexy back after a couple of unfortunate medical situations.
Before this experience, did you feel you were photogenic? If no, do you feel you are photogenic now?
Somewhat photogenic. Absolutely now.

Before this experience, what concerns did you have in regards to hiring a professional photographer?
Investing in something that I was uncomfortable doing.
Were you surprised at how much fun you had planning your session, shooting your session, and seeing your images?
I knew it would be fun but didn’t know it would this be enjoyable.
